Walking in Comfort
As we head into the Spring and Summer months we're
thinking about getting outside. You'll be visiting local
sites, tourist attractions and possibly taking a great
vacation.
But no outing is fun if your feet hurt or you don't have
the right shoes to wear. If you've ever taken a long walk
with the wrong shoes on, you know what I mean! I've
done it several times - Oh my aching feet!
When your feet hurt or they are not properly cushioned
or supported, your entire lower body can be negatively
affected.
The mistake I've made is that so called 'comfortable
shoes' such as gym shoes or sporty shoes don't necessarily
mean comfort.
Here's a few tips to help you find a shoe that actually fits
your foot and maintains a comfort level that you need.
The most comfortable shoe is the shoe that gives you
cushioning, support and good flexibility. Also if
you have over pronation or under pronation you will
need to compensate for that.
Motion control shoes
You want a good shoe for motion control. These are
rigid shoes designed to limit overpronation, these
shoes would be for someone with flat feet or heavier
people. These shoes have quite thick heels.
Stability shoes
These shoes have more flexibility but still provide
good support and durability. These are for people
who do not have motion control problems. and are of
midweight. These shoes have thick heels but not as
thick as motion control shoes.
Cushioned shoes
These shoes have soft midsoles and offer the least
support but are highly flexible. These are for people
that have no overpronation problems or need extra
support. People with high arches would find these
shoes desirable.
Be sure the shoe you are buying gives you enough
room in the toes and does not rub anywhere. A shoe
can seem comfortable when first put on but if it rubs
or is tight in any one spot it won't last long on your foot.
If comfort is your thing, I highly suggest getting yourself

health. They’ll help you find the shoes you need to maintain
comfort, stability and style.
